Executive Meetings are held bi monthly, at Shrewsbury RFC, on the third Tuesday of odd numbered months (except July). 2010/2011 Season Meeting Dates:

Rules of the Shropshire RFU
1. The name of the union shall be “THE SHROPSHIRE RUGBY FOOTBALL UNION”. The Headquarters shall be in Shrewsbury where all General Meetings shall be held.
2. The purpose of the union shall be to promote the interests of rugby football Union in the County of Shropshire and in particular to establish a County XV.
3. Any properly constituted Club playing rugby football under the Rules of the Rugby Football Union in the County of Shropshire shall be eligible for membership. The annual subscription, which shall be payable on or before the 1st October in each year, shall be £30.00 per team in each club exclusive of any Colts team, after which this subscription shall be increased to £40 per team.
4. Individual Subscriber of a minimum of £10.00 to the Union shall be termed “County Members” to whom tickets shall be issued which shall admit them to Trial and County Matches in Shropshire.
5. All Clubs in membership with the Union shall send to the Honorary Secretary on or before 1st September in each year a Fixture Card for that Season.
6. The officers of the Union shall consist of a President, Vice President, Past Presidents, Honorary Secretary, Honorary Assistant Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, Chairman of Playing (Honorary Match Secretary), Honorary Membership Secretary, Honorary Press Officer, Youth Officer, RFUW representative and North Midlands representatives (3). The President shall not hold office for more than two (2) consecutive years. The Honorary Secretary shall notify all affiliated clubs of the retirement or resignation of any officer (if this is to become effective at the AGM) before the 4th of April. Ex Officio appointments, who shall be entitled to vote at committee meetings, will be the Merit Table Administrator, a representative of the North Midlands Society of Referees and the North Midlands RFU Welfare Officer.
7. The Executive Committee who shall deal with the ordinary business of the Union shall consist of the officers of the union and one representative form each club. The executive Committee shall have the power to appoint any sub committee they consider desirable. The executive Committee shall have the power to coopt members to the committee and such co-opted members shall be entitled to vote at Executive Committee meetings. The President shall be the Chairman of the Executive Committee and an ex-officio member of all sub committees. The Vice President shall be an ex-officio member of all sub committees other than the Selection Committee.
8. The Annual General Meeting shall be held prior to the 30th June in each year. Each Club belonging to the Union, which has paid its subscription for the past season, shall be entitled to send two representatives who shall be entitled to vote at such meetings or at Special General Meetings. County Members shall be entitled to attend but not to vote at such meetings.
9. Two weeks notice of the Annual General Meeting shall be given to all clubs in membership with the Union and to County Members. The notice of the Annual General meeting shall contain details of any Notice of Motion, Proposal or Nomination received by the Honorary Secretary in accordance with these rules.
10. Any Notice of motion for the Annual General Meeting or notice of Proposal to alter, add or rescind any of these rules shall be sent in writing to the Honorary Secretary prior to the 1st May.
11. No rule shall be altered, rescinded or added to without the consent of a two thirds majority of those present at a General meeting.
12. Except in the case of retiring officers and other members of the Executive Committee, each person nominated for election at the Annual General Meeting, shall be proposed and seconded in writing by clubs in membership and such nominations shall reach the Honorary Secretary prior to 1st May. The nomination will also bear the signature of the person proposed to indicate his willingness to serve.
13. A Special general meeting shall be convened at the request of the Executive Committee or on receipt of a requisition to that effect stating the object of such meeting signed by the Secretaries of not less than one third of the Clubs in membership with the Union.
14. No business shall be transacted at a General Meeting unless representatives from at least one third of the Clubs in membership with the union are present thereat. At all meetings of the Executive Committee five shall form a quorum. All motions shall be decided by a bare majority of votes, except as provided in Rule 11. The Chairman shall have a casting vote, in addition to his own as a Member, in case of equality of votes.
15. Each Club shall be furnished with a copy of these Rules and shall be bound by the Laws and Bye laws of the Rugby Football Union. Each County member shall be supplied with a copy of these Rules. In case of any dispute or infringement by any club or player, such dispute or infringement shall be reported to the Honorary Secretary who shall refer the matter to the North Midlands Rugby Football Union for a full investigation. The North Midlands Rugby Football Union may thereupon call for either a personal or written explanation, and deal with the matter in any way it may think fit. Any decision made after such investigation shall be implemented within one week of it being made known and failure to comply will render the club or its responsible officials or players liable to expulsion from the Union.
16. The payment of sums other than the ordinary expenses of the Union shall only be made with the authority of the Executive Committee.
17. The accounts shall be audited by an Honorary Auditor and presented to the Annual General meeting.
18. The Union shall be affiliated to the Rugby Football Union and to the North Midlands Rugby Football Union for the purpose of carrying out the Delegation Powers granted by the Rugby Football Union and as set down in the Rugby Football Union Handbook, all clubs in membership shall be deemed to be under the jurisdiction of the North Midlands Rugby Football Union.
19. Clubs in membership with the Union shall bind themselves strictly to observe these rules and any interpretation of these Rules shall be left for the Executive Committee to decide.
20. Any omission from these Rules shall be deemed to be covered by the Bye Laws and Rules for the time being in force, and from time to time made by the Rugby Football Union, and the North Midlands Rugby Football Union.
