Having avoided relegation for the second year running, National Three Midlands side Malvern are looking to strengthen the team with the addition of at least one player/coach.
Club Chairman Martin Pocock said "Whilst we had an excellent pack last season which can develop further, we lacked experience and penetration in the back division. We see the recruitment of players with experience in the Championship, or higher reaches of the National Leagues as crucial to our development and strengthening of the first team squad.
"At the same time we will look to any player/coaches we recruit to work hand in hand with our existing coaching team on the development of our youth and proposed Academy sides.
"Malvern is quite a small town with a higher than average retired population, so in the past we have had fairly sparse local resources to call upon.
"However, with a small but important number of rugby-playing schools and colleges in the surrounding area we wish to develop the players in the crucial late teens age group, bringing them through the transitional stage to senior rugby.
" We have already had some success in this area, notably with first teamers like Richard Fleming and Christian Edwards having come through our youth set-up, and Joe Budd came on at scrum half recently, only days after reaching the qualifying age for senior rugby. We need to nurture and grow our young players, who we see as the long term future of the club."
Pocock would be pleased to receive applications from any suitably qualified potential player/coaches, who should send their rugby CVs to him at chairman@malvernrfc.co.uk
