Shropshire reshuffle backs for RLF North Midlands Championship final
18/05/10 by Paul Bolton
Shropshire have been forced to reshuffle their back division for tonight's RLF North Midlands Championship final against Worcestershire at Stourbridge (7.30pm).
Newport centre Rob Clymer has been ruled out because he is on holiday in Egypt and has been unable to return to England because of travel problems caused by the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud.
Whitchurch scrum-half Chris Hares and Harper Adams University winger Ben Williams have been ruled out because of injury and Whitchurch centre Jimmy Mullock is unavailable because of work commitments.
Shropshire, the reigning champions, have called up Bridgnorth's Mike Preece to partner Harry Shepherd of Harper Adams University in the centre, Andy Sugborough of Harper Adams University on the left wing and Luctonians scrum-half Jamie Simpson to replace the absentees.
The RLF North Midlands Championship is contested annually by the three Domestic Unions that comprise the North Midlands RFU and gives players from outside the National Leagues and those who do not play regular first team rugby at National Leagues level the opportunity to experience a high standard of representative rugby.
The competition has again been generously sponsored by RLF (Robinson Low Francis), the national firm of construction and property consultants, who are long-time supporters of the RLF North Midlands Championship and grassroots rugby in England.
