25/06/10   by Paul Bolton

Bromsgrove will begin their pre-season training for their campaign in National 3 Midlands this Sunday with an Iron Man event at the David Lloyd Leisure Centre.

This will be followed by training at Finstall Park on on Tuesday 6 July and Thursday 8 July at 7.15pm which are open to players with aspirations to play at the highest level of regional rugby.

Bromsgrove finished fourth in the league last season and capped a successful campaign by lifting the North Midlands Cup.

This has been further underpinned through the retention of an experienced coaching staff comprising existing Head Coach Ross Baxter, Duncan Roke and Mark Cornelius.

"The senior squad developed a very professional approach to the campaign at the very outset of pre-season last year" said Baxter. "Having reached these high standards the coaching staff are aiming to continually raise the bar for the forthcoming National League campaign."

Bromsgrove aim to bethe fittest team in the League via a link up with Northampton Saints fitness team with a strong emphasis on Iron Man events such as weekly kettle bell sessions and the further development of a top class medical and nutritional back up programme with Ultimate Sports Nutrition.

"The club has set some early season targets of a top five finish and to win every home match for the year as well as the 2nd XV finishing in the top three of the new West Midlands Reserve League" said Baxter. "I firmly believe the senor playing squad have the ability and focus to play well at this level and every player is excited by the opportunity to stretch themselves every week."
