DAN Tanner, the RFU's Community Rugby Coach for Birmingham, will cycle from John O'Groats to Land's End next month in an attempt to raise £2,000 for the RFU's Injured Players Foundation.
Tanner and three friends will aim to cycle 90 miles a day for 12 consecutive days to complete the 1,000 mile journey.
"With rugby being such a huge part of my life I believe that now is the time to give something back to the sport which has already given me memories to last a lifetime," said Tanner, who has been in training for four months.
The IPF is a charity that looks after 132 clients and also has a valuable role in the prevention asnd management of injuries.
The IPF supports people who sustain a catastrophic injury while playing rugby. The charity provides both help and support for players and their families in the early months of these injuries as well as in the long term and incorporates the former SPIRE Rugby Trust Charity.
