About Us

The North Midlands Rugby Football Union

The North Midlands RFU is a Constituent Body (CB) of the English Rugby Football Union. It combines the counties of Greater Birmingham, Hereford & Worcester and Shropshire.

NMRFU are part of the Midlands Division. The RFU is split into four divisions: London & South East, Midlands, North and South West.

The Midlands Division comprises North Midlands, Warwickshire, East Midlands, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and NLD (Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire & Derbyshire).
NMRFU is responsible for the administration of rugby in the North Midlands region including discipline issues.

The NMRFU also provides referees for the North Midlands region through its referees society, NMSRFR (North Midlands Society of Rugby Football Referees)

Some members of the NMRFU committee also serve on the Midlands Leagues Organising Committee (MLOC). The MLOC administers the RFU first team leagues for the Midlands Region from Level 5 (National 3 Midlands) downwards.


The NMRFU administer the North Midlands Competitions via the NM Competitions Sub Committee :-
  • North Midlands Cup (Levels 5 & 6 clubs)
  • North Midlands Shield (Levels 7 & 8 clubs)
  • North Midlands Vase (Levels 9 & 10 clubs)
  • North Midlands Colts Cup
  • North Midlands Youth Cups (U14, U15, U16 & U17 )
