Birmingham Exiles are seeking a new head coach for their senior men’s teams for next season and beyond.
The club, formed from the merger of Birmingham City Officials and Birmingham Welsh in 1997,is based at Old Damson Lane in Elmdon.
The facilities include two full size pitches, one of them floodlit, and a junior pitch. The clubhouse comprises a snug bar and a separate function room which is used for both for internal and external events.
There are four changing rooms with two separate showering facilities and a gym and an extensive range of equipment including a scrum machine.
The club has a thriving Junior section, a ladies team along with the senior male sides.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop as a coach and to improve the club’s league position in Midlands Five West South.
It is envisaged that the role will commence in time to oversee some pre-season activities.
The head coach will be responsible for building a coaching team as required to help deliver training, devise and deliver a coaching programme for the season, plan, prepare and deliver individual coaching sessions as required, help to develop a team playing strategy.
The head coach will also be involved with the selection process, evaluating all coaching sessions and games with the coaching team and players, attend coaching sessions and matches involving the senior men’s team, mentor and advise assistant coaches and players and provide feedback to coaches, players and the club as appropriate
The successful candidate should have proven experience in coaching, UKCC level two coaching qualification or equivalent and required level of rugby knowledge to enable players to reach their potential.
They will be directly responsible for planning the coaching programme and set the required standards of leadership for the coaching team and players.
Remuneration will be discussed with the successful applicant.
