Birmingham University are seeking a coach for their Women’s Second XV.of Birmingham Rugby Club is a leading Rugby club in the West Midlands.
The Women’s 1st XV have completed two successful years in BUCS 1A winning both the League and the Trophy cup competitions. The 1st XV will be playing in the BUCS Premiership for women’s rugby and the 2nd team will be competing in the RFU merit league next season.
The University is now seeking a development coach to support the Head Coach and the Women’s programme. The successful candidate must be available to lead and execute well-planned and adaptable training sessions that clearly reflect the developmental needs of the squad.
Working with the University club would be a good first step for coaches who are looking to develop their coaching within a fantastic team of coaches in a brilliant environment.
Tom Drewett, the University’s Head of Rugby is a RFU Level 3 Coach and former professional player with coaching experience in age group and semi-professional rugby. He leads a small group of coaches of varying backgrounds and experience.
The University Women’s club is well led by Andy Root, and assisted by Katie Trevarthen.
The club’s main training session is on a Monday evening between 6.30pm and 8.00pm, Tuesday and Friday mornings, 7.00-8.30 am. The club season is from October 1 to the end of March. The successful candidate must be able to attend matches on Wednesdays, Friday evenings or Sundays.
