Greater Birmingham have shuffled their pack for the Three Counties Championship final against holders Worcestershire & Herefordshire at Shrewsbury on Wednesday March 13 (8pm).
Harborne hooker Stuart Mason, who impressed as a replacement when Greater Birmingham were beaten by W&H in the final group match at Stourbridge three weeks ago, will start in the rematch.
Camp Hill lock Mitch Lee comes into the second row for his first appearance of the campaign with TJ Clarke, who has started in the centre in both of Greater Birmingham’s two matches this season, showing his versatility by switching to the openside flank.
Leigh Griffin of Yardley & District returns in a re-jigged back row with lock Ryan Lee of Old Saltleians also back after he missed the defeat at Stourbridge.
Behind the scrum Greater Birmingham welcome back Sutton Coldfield fly-half Ben Morgan which allows Lewis Beaty of Birmingham Exiles to move back into the centre.
Aidan Watkins of Harborne also starts after he impressed as a replacement three weeks ago.
Greater Birmingham’s bonus point victory over Shropshire in the tournament opener was enough to secure them a place in the final.
Worcestershire & Herefordshire bounced back from defeat by Shropshire at Shrewsbury in their opening match to defeat Greater Birmingham and keep alive their hopes of winning the competition for a fourth consecutive year.
Cup commitments have presented selection problems for W&H with their strong contingent of Kidderminster Carolians players unavailable ahead of Saturday’s Midlands Intermediate Cup final at Kenilworth.
Dudley Kingswinford players are also unavailable this week as they are preparing for their club’s North Midlands Cup final against Bridgnorth at Stourbridge on Friday and Malvern and Hereford have a rearranged Midlands One West league match on the same night.
