Kidderminster Carolians are staging a number of Rugby World Cup themed events in the build up to the tournament which is being staged in England and Wales in September and October.
The weekend before the tournament begins on September 18 the Marlpool Lane club will have a RWC-themed open day with mini and junior age group teams representing the different nations who will be competing in the World Cup and demonstrating Touch Rugby.
The day will also include face painting of the countries’ flags and RWC goody bags as well as a screening of England’s World Cup victory in Australia in 2003.
On September 18 a male voice choir will be present at Marlpool Lane to sing rugby anthems and songs prior to England’s opening match in the tournament.
There will also be a brewery-sponsored beer tent which will be decked out with England banners and beer promotions.
Kidderminster have also identified RWC meeters and greeters who will welcome new visitors to the club during the tournament to encourage them to return and become members of the club.
There will be O2 Touch Rugby at Marlpool Lane on every weekend during the World Cup to encourage those who might wish to start playing rugby in this increasingly popular non-contact version of the sport.
