North Midlands Women
Following the great success of last season, the North Midlands (NM) management and coaching team have been making plans for the 2016 season. It has become very exciting with the RFU establishing a formal County Championship Cup competition.
North Midlands have been selected as one of the top 16 counties and will play 3 other counties in May. There are 4 pools of Counties and the winners of each pool will play a semi-final, followed by a final at a prestigious venue. The 4 pools are as follows:
Womens County Championship
This year’s programme will be similar to last year with 3 Development Days, at different venues, as follows:
Sunday 20th March – Birmingham University 3G pitch at 3pm
Sunday 3rd April – Camp Hill RFC at 2pm
Sunday 10th April – Bridgnorth RFC at 2pm
All players that play in the North Midlands region are invited to attend one or more of the above sessions.
The County matches are all held in May with three group fixtures as follows:
Sunday 1st May – Buckinghamshire V North Midlands at TBA
Sunday 8th May – North Midlands v Gloucestershire at Five Ways OE RFC
Sunday 15th May – North Midlands v Berkshire at Five Ways OE RFC
The group winner will advance to the National Semi Final on Sunday 22nd May with the Final the following week on Sunday 29th May.
