Former North Midlands Under-20s prop Kai Owen is set to make his England age-group debut in the Under-20s Six Nations match against France at Exeter on Saturday.
Owen, who began his career with Telford Hornets, is in his second spell at the Worcester Warriors Academy and he made his senior debut for them as a replacement in their European Challenge Cup win over Stade Francais in Paris in October.
Owen missed England’s defeat at the hands of Ireland in Cork in their opening match last Friday because of a thigh injury but he has recovered and been named as a replacement for the France match.
Owen is one of four former North Midlands youth players in England’s squad including his Warriors team-mate Ted Hill who will captain the side at Exeter.
Centre Ollie Lawrence, who impressed as a replacement in Cork, will start this week with lock James Scott again named on the bench.
