Stourbridge prop Stef Thorp has been capped by North Midlands as recognition of eight years’ of loyal service to the county.
Thorp made his County Championship debut against Northumberland in 2010 and has made 22 further appearances for the county.
His consistent performances for North Midlands attracted the attention of the England Counties XV selectors who selected Thorp for one of their summer tours only for injury to rule him out.
Thorp began his career with Dudley Kingswinford before he switched to Moseley and then moved to Stourbridge in 2015.
Thorp was presented with his North Midlands cap by county President Rob Bray during Worcester Warriors’ Gallagher Premiership match against Bristol at Sixways on Sunday.
