Aldridge have appointed Jim Arnold as their director of rugby, a post he will take up ahead of the 2019/20 season.
Arnold is a well-known figure at Bourne Vale having been a first team stalwart until last season and now a second team regular.
In his new role Arnold will be for player recruitment and retention and will provide the link between the players and the club. with head coach Jon Arch reporting to him.
“This was a position that Jon has pushed for, and Jim was the standout candidate; he is respected by everyone at the club; we see the Director Of Rugby appointment as a real marker as to our commitment to continue to grow on the recent success of the club both on and off the pitch,” said Aldridge chairman Nathan Scully.
Following promotion from Midlands Five in the 2017/18 season, are currently mid-table in Midlands Four West (North) West North.
“It bears testament to work put in by the captains, coach and the likes ofJim, that we have most weeks put out a second XV, even on weeks when we had over 30 players unavailable,” said Scully.
“The coach has put his faith in youth, with our backline especially now far more youthful looking than previous seasons.
“We believe we are on the start of a what could be a very special journey for everyone involved in the club. We want our club to be one where everyone has a chance to play rugby to the best of their ability regardless of experience or age”.
