Staffordshire club Barton under Needwood are seeking support from North Midlands clubs in their attempt to set a new world record for the largest uncontested scrum on September 10.
The present Guinness World Record was set in September 2015 by Sports Impact (UK) of Middlesex with 1,198 players and Barton are hoping to smash that. To set the new record Barton aim to scrum down with 1200 friends, family and support from other clubs around the Midlands.
As well as attempting to break the record, Barton aim to raise money to support charities and create needed funds to support theirĀ facilities.
The event will be monitored by professional health and safety advisors, to ensure it will be safe for young and old, big and bulky rugby players or not, the uncontested scrum will be safe for everyone and we hope a great family day out.
