Former England and British and Irish Lions wing John Bentley will be the guest speaker at Five Ways OE’s 125th Anniversary Dinner.
Bentley, who has become an accomplished after-dinner speaker since he stopped playing, will top the bill at the Bromsgrove Hotel and Spa on Saturday March 25.
Peter Baines, President of the RFU, and his wife Sue will be guests of honour at the event which will be one of the highlights of Five Ways 125th celebrations.
Other events to mark the landmark season include a Vice Presidents’ and former players’ day at Five Ways’ Masshouse ground at Hopwood on October 29 when they play Wednesbury.
There will be a match between King Edward VI School, Five Ways and the school’s Old Boys on December 13 and a President’s Day on March 4 when Five Ways will host Aston OE in a fixture that was first played in the 1880s.
Five Ways OE Ladies will also play celebration matches against Old Newtonians on December 18, which is Christmas Fancy Dress Day, and Newent on January 29.
There will be a Turn up and Play event on Boxing Day which is expected to feature players from Dixonians, Old Griffinians, Birmingham Wyvern, Kings Norton, Warley and Woodrush.
