Bromsgrove School, the defending NatWest Schools Under-18 Cup champions, will face Whitgift Schol in the semi-finals of this season’s competition at Allianz Park on Saturday February 27 (5pm).
Bromsgrove won the competition for the first time when they beat Dulwich College 30-18 in last March’s final at Twickenham and have been in impressive form again this season under head of rugby Tony Windo, the former Gloucester and Worcester prop.
“Following a pleasing performance to overcome a very strong Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe, in the quarter-final, the boys have returned after their half-term break and trained well in preparation for what we believe will be our toughest test of the competition against Whitgift, a well-known rugby school,” Windo told the ‘Daily Telegraph’.
“Having no previous experience of playing Whitgift, the boys have been focused on preparations to ensure they perform to the best of their ability, and make the most of the opportunity they’ve given themselves in reaching the Cup semi-final.”
The winners of the Bromsgrove v Whitgift tie will face either QEGS Wakefield or Warwick School, who meet in the first semi-final at Allianz Park on Saturday, at Finals Day at Twickenham next month.
