Eleven members of the this season’s North Midlands Under-18 squad have been invited to the first Midlands Under-18 Development Day at Uppingham School on December 7.
The 11 were selected after impressing the divisional selectors while playing for North Midlands in their recent three-match programme of county matches.
They were selected for the Uppingham Development Day after a grading meeting earlier this week. The Development Day will be followed by an Assessment Day in January followed by two squad days ahead of the Divisional Festival at Loughborough University between February 20 and 22.
After the Divisional Festival the England Counties Under-18 selectors will name a squad to prepare for matches against Ireland and France at a venue in England to be confirmed during the Easter break.
The North Midlands 11 who have been invited to attend the Development Day at Uppingham School are: props James Page (Malvern College and Worcestershire) and Charlie Robinson (Bromsgrove School and Worcestershire), hookers Mike Adams (Ellesmere College and Shropshire) and Dominic Deacon (Hartpury College and Herefordshire), locks Jack Ward (Birmingham Met College and Greater Birmingham) and Myles Edwards (Worcester Sixth Form College and Greater Birmingham), flankers Max Hill (Worcester Sixth Form College and Worcestershire), Ben Shimwell (Worcester Sixth Form College and Worcestershire) and Matt Kinney (Ellesmere College and Shropshire), number eight Piers Morell (Malvern College and Worcestershire) and fly-half Tom Benjamin (Ellesmere College and Shropshire).
