Two second half tries from centre Corey Humphries helped North Midlands Under-15 Girls beat Leicestershire 24-20 at Market Harborough.
Humphries, of Old Halesonians, scored twice in a nine minute spell early in the second half which helped North Midlands withstand Leicestershire’s subsequent fightback.
Left Wing Teagan Pressland gave North Midlands an early lead when she crossed for a try that fly-half Isobel McGuire-Evans (Telford Hornets) improved.
Two unconverted tries put Leicestershire ahead but a try just before half-time from Old Halesonians’ blindside flanker Emma Morris restored North Midlands’ advantage.
Humphries’ brace, plus her conversion of the first try, put North Midlands 24-10 clear and insured them against defeat.
