North Midlands Under-18s began their short representative programme with a thrilling 15-15 draw against Staffordshire at Burntwood RFC this evening.
Both sides scored three unconverted tries with North Midland snatching the draw with the final play of the match when replacement scrum-half Tom Warrington of Worcestershire crossed from close range.
North Midlands trailed 10-5 at the break with scrum-half Rhys Harrhy (New College, Telford Hornets RFC and Shropshire) crossing for the opening try.
They went ten points down in the second half before number eight Ewan Duncan (Whitecross School, Hereford RFC and Herefordshire) pulled back a try to reduce the deficit and then Warrington crossed to clinch the draw.
North Midlands are next in action on October 30 when they play Warwickshire at Broadstreet RFC (10.30am).
