North Midlands Under-18s bounced back from their defeat by Warwickshire two weeks ago by trouncing Staffordshire 45-10 at Stourbridge this evening.
North Midlands produced some scintillating handling rugby at times which produced seven tries, three of them in a devastating six minute period late in the second half.
The win means that North Midlands will now play in the middle match at the Midlands Super Sunday tournament at Broadstreet on November 1 against opponents to be decided.
North Midlands rejigged their back row after their defeat by Warwickshire and it was one three newcomers in the side, number eight Charley Wright (Shrewsbury Sixth Form College and Telford Hornets) who muscled over for the opening try which fly-half Joe Hunt (Bromsgrove School and Luctonians) improved.
Left wing Alex Hearle (Shrewsbury Sixth Form College and Church Stretton) then crossed for an unconverted try after a prolonged and controlled attack before Staffordshire rallied with a try from a driving maul.
North Midlands responded in kind when lock Harrty Dawson (Bournville College and Moseley) rumbled over for another unconverted try and Wright struck an important blow just before half-time when he went over for his second try which Hunt converted.
Staffordshire pulled back five more points midway through the second half but their challenge fizzled out when North Midlands used forward power and the pace of their backs to put the game to bed.
Scrum-half Oli Gaston (Hereford Cathedral School) went over from close range at the start of the purple patch and Dan Pemberton (Adams GS and Whitchurch) who took over the kicking duties added the extras.
Centre Will Davies (Thomas Telford College and Church Stretton) scored almost from the re-start when he finished off a superb counter-attack from deep in defence and full-back Cameron Hunter (Hereford Cathedral School and Ledbury) put the seal on victory when he supported another attack.
Pemberton, the son of former Whitchurch, Shropshire and North Midlands lock Tom, converted the last two tries.
