Seven North Midlands players have been included in the Midlands Under-16 squad for next month’s Divisional Festival at Moulton College in Northampton.
The seven were selected after last Sunday’s Midlands Confirmation Day at Leicester Grammar School which involved 47 players from across the Midlands, 12 of them from North Midlands.
Hookers Beck Cutting (Bromsgrove School) and Harrison Fowke (Bromsgrove School and Spartans RFC), loosehead prop Freddie Hemingway (John Kyrle HS and Ledbury RFC), number eight Ted Hill (River School and Malvern RFC), centre Dion King (Kings School Worcester and Droitwich RFC) and locks James Scott (Bishop of Hereford Bluecoat School) and Lawrence Weston (Haybridge HS and Droitwich RFC) will now train with the Midlands at Moulton College between January 30 and February 1.
The Midlands will also play a match against one of the other three divisions during the Festival.
The Divisional Festival forms the next stage in the selection process for this season’s England Under-16 team who will play an international away to Wales on April 19.
