North Midlands Women slipped to a 47-12 defeat at the hands of a powerful Lancashire in their second Gill Burns County Championship match At Birmingham University.
Lancashire hit North Midlands with a burst of four unconverted tries in the first 20 minutes but wing Emma Jordan pulled back five points with an unconverted try just before half time.
But Lancashire pulled clear again with four more tries in the third quarter which gave them a 42-5 lead.
A try from full-back Emily Partridge, which Beth James converted, pulled back seven points for North Midlands before Lancashire completed an emphatic victory with their ninth try eight minutes from time.
North Midlands complete their championship programme with another home game against Durham at Birmingham University on May 13 (2pm).
