Matt Cowdrey of Dudley Kingswinford is one of only 12 coaches in England who have been invited to attend a special two-day session run by England head coach Eddie Jones later this month.
Cowdrey, who is an RFU Young Rugby Ambassador, is also a qualified referee who takes charge of junior matches on Sunday mornings at Heathbrook and a qualified coach who has helped Vikki Baldwin and Tom Simmonds to develop the girls’ rugby section.
Cowdrey’s outstanding work has now been recognised with an invitation to the Eddie Jones coaching session at London Irish on July 26 and 27.
Over the weekend Cowdrey and the 11 other coaches will have the opportunity to put questions to the RFU coach development staff about coaching ideas, techniques and philosophy.
He will then get to work withsmall groups to deliver a session to boys and girls aged 14-18 in front of Eddie Jones. Eddie Jones will assist with the session giving advice and then further feedback after the session.
