North Midlands RFU is entitled to elect two representatives to sit on the RFU Council during the period 2017-18.
Persons seeking election or re-election must be proposed by a North Midlands RFU constituent club, and seconded by another. The election of our two representatives has to be made no later than April 1 each year.
The appointment of those elected Representative takes effect after the next AGM of the Union, and will be for a period of 12 months.
Nominations must be in writing, and received by Rob Bray, the Honorary Secretary of North Midlands RFU, no later than March 1 2017.
An election will be required if there are more candidates than Representation places available to North Midlands RFU i.e. more than two candidates.
Details of candidates will then be circulated to all clubs not later than March 15. A ballot will then be arranged either at a meeting of all constituent clubs, or by way of a postal ballot.
Clubs will be entitled two votes should there be a ballot. The election will be under the supervision of the President of this Union.
There are rules to follow in the event of a tie.
