England Counties will play three matches in Canada on their summer tour this year.
The Counties, the flagship side of the Community Game in England, will open their tour against British Columbia Bears in Vancouver on June 3.
They will then travel 600 miles to Calgary to play the Prairie Wolf Pack on June 7 and then move on to Toronto for the tour finale against Ontario Blues on June11.
It will be the second time that the Counties have toured Canada following a successful visit in 2010 and the tour follows last year’s tour to Romania and recent trips to Georgia, Chile, Belgium and East Africa.
“We are very much looking forward to what promises to be a very competitive tour. Our last tour to Canada was a huge success and this June will once again present our players with a fantastic opportunity to represent England while also helping to develop the sport in a country where it is developing rapidly.”
The England Counties squad for the Canada tour will be selected from players who make themselves available for the County Championship or National Under-20 Championship this season.
