Greater Birmingham have included five newcomers in their squad for their Three Counties Championship match against Worcestershire & Herefordshire at Stourbridge’s Stourton Park on Wednesday February 20 (8pm).
Greater Birmingham launched their campaign with a 36-8 bonus point victory over Shropshire in the tournament opener at Bournville last month and will secure their place in next month’s final if they beat W&H, the reigning champions.
W&H began their attempt to win the competition for a fourth successive season with a 15-12 defeat in a thriller at Shrewsbury two weeks ago and need to beat Greater Birmingham if they are to progress to the final at Telford Hornets on March 13.
Greater Birmingham have reshuffled their side since the Shropshire win with Birmingham Civil Service hooker Kieran Clohessy and Handsworth flanker Dan Payne both included as the debutants in the starting XV.
Harborne pair Stuart Mason and Aidan Watkins and Jermain Toques of Yardley & District are set to make their county debuts off the bench.
Nine different clubs are represented in the Greater Birmingham squad with eight in the Worcestershire & Herefordshire squad.
