The Guanos, the Midlands invitation side, will be back in action on Saturday March 12 when they face the Torbay Sharks at Worcester Wanderers’ Westons ground (12pm).
The Guanos played a number of high profile matches during the late 1980s and early 1990s but fixtures have proved harder to find since the advent of professionalism 20 years ago.
But a group of enthusiasts headed by founder member Oliver Parker and former Moseley and Worcester lock Steve Lloyd have revived the club with the intention of playing around half a dozen celebration matches each season.
The first of those takes place this Saturday as part of Worcester Wanderers Rugby Aid Day.
The Guanos squad will include some well known faces including former Worcester and Moseley prop Neil Lyman, former Wales Under-21 full-back Duncan Hughes, ex-Moseley and Gloucester scrum-half Bruce Fenley and former Worcester centre Ali McLaughlin.
