Kings Norton will host the South Birmingham Schools Tag Rugby Finals at their Hopwood Park headquarters on Tuesday March 17.
The event is the culmination of a successful series of compettions involving combined years 5 and 6 team from 11 local junior and primary schools.
Local Craig Ellicott from St Laurence Junior School in Northfield organised the series and this final session of three will result in every participating receiving a medal. All the schools will also receiveĀ trophy.
Kings Norton have hosted all these events in support of the local community. Many of the matches have been played under the Hopwood Park floodlights.
Kings Norton Rhinos coaches have also helped with coaching support at many of the schools taking part and the Rhinos have sponsored the medals and trophies.
The finals will start at 4pm and will involve St Laurence A, B and C, Kings Norton, West Heath A & B, The Meadows A & B, Raddlebarn, Bournville, St Brigids, Lickey Hills, Colmers Farm, Saint Mary’s A and Saint Edwards Junior and Primary Schools.
The event is a prequel to a further schools tournament which will be staged at Hopwood Park later this year which is being organised to coincide with theĀ Rugby World Cup 2015 and in support of the Birmingham Rugby Partnership’s activities.
