On Tuesday 15th October Kings Norton RFC Rhinos Juniors hosted their second Rugby World Cup 2019 celebratory Tag Rugby Primary school Festival, this time for year groups 4 and 5. The June 2019 Tag Rugby Festival was for year groups 5 and 6. Each Team represented a country taking part in the 2019 Rugby World Cup and all teams played 9 five minute games, all playing each other in today’s Festival.
The Teams were rewarded points for the match result of each game played. They were also rewarded points for the application of the Rugby Core Values by each member of each team. Overall winners were Japan represented by Bournville Primary school, runners up were New Zealand represented by Tiverton Primary School and coming third was Ireland represented by West Heath Primary School.
All the children received a celebratory medal of participation and were also given a special Quilter Kids ”Rugby Values” boot lace. It was great to see the Chairman of the North Midlands RFU Executive Committee Charlie Hemming paying us a visit today at the festival in Hopwood Park. Another surprise Guest who we have not seen in a long time was Ronnie the Rhino the Kings Norton Juniors mascot. Kings Norton RFC would like to thank all the teaching, support staff and volunteers who helped with day’s event.
