North Midlands Women have included 14 newcomers in their squad for the Gill Burns County Championship opener against Lancashire at Birmingham Exiles on Sunday April 28 (2pm).
The squad preparations for the competition included talk from England hooker and Worcester Valyries captain Lark Davies who discussed her own journey from North Midlands to the highest level of the women’s game.
Last season three North Midlands players progressed from the County Championship to play for England Under-18s Sevens, Wales Sevens or England Universities Sevens.
The newcomers in Sunday’s squad are full-back Becky Smart, right wing Dijanna Clarke, half-backs Alison Livermore and Becky Clarke, loosehead prop Candice Carney-Grayson, hooker Alicia Watkins, lock Beth Snape, flanker Jasmine Gibbons, number eight Victoria Jones plus replacements Claire Higginson, Charlotte Dolan, Axx Evans, Jemima Moss and Carly Whent.
