North Midlands are seeking a Constituent Body Volunteer Co-ordinator to take the lead on all club volunteering matters, to ensure there are sufficient capable people supporting rugby in North Midlands and help in recognising and rewarding worthy volunteers.
The role includes working alongside Domestic Union Volunteer Representatives, promotion of North Midlands, RFU or external volunteering related awards with clubs, collating nominations for submission, working with the North Midlands Executive Committee and CB Succession Manager in the operation of the CB succession planning process and working alongside the Chair of the Club Support and Development Sub-Committee towards the creation of a pool of volunteers who are ready and willing to step up or provide cover for key roles in the CB.
The CBVC is the main contact for the RFU’s Volunteer Engagement Manager, promotes RFU volunteer recognition and reward opportunities and keeps accurate records of those in receipt of rewards.
The CBVC will visit North Midlands clubs regularly to increase understanding of volunteer achievements and issues and promote the Club Volunteer Co-Ordinator role by hosting and delivery of forums and workshops with the support of RFU staff.
The CBVC will identify and share good practice for volunteer recruitment, retention and reward, promote and encourage engagement by CB clubs in RFU initiatives and opportunities, promote the Young Rugby Ambassadors programme, support the opportunities for young volunteers (aged 14 – 24) and Keep Your Boots On! (KYBO!) and highlight opportunities for retaining former players in the game.
The successful candidate will be proactive, confident and a good communicator, be well connected to clubs or willing to develop relationships, enthusiastic and motivating, well organised and be interested in volunteer management and development matters.
The role is expected to take up between three and five hours per week during the season.
