North Midlands Women will complete their preparations for this season’s inaugural County Championship with two more development days at next month.
The squad assembled for the first time before Easter and had a two hour session on the 3G pitch at Birmingham University’s Pritchatts Park ground and they hold further sessions at Camp Hill on April 3 and Bridgnorth on April 10.
“Considering that several of the North Midlands clubs were still playing league or cup games, we were delighted with the number of players that attended the session,” said North Midlands team manager John Hope.
“Many of last season’s squad have already committed their intent to play this season and the coaches were pleased that nine new players trained and are looking to seize their opportunity to play in this seasons’ first County Championship.”
The North Midlands Women development sessions are open to all adult players who live in the North Midlands area or play for a North Midlands club, college or university or who have previously played for North Midlands.
North Midlands will launch their County Championship campaign with an away match against Buckinghamshire on May 1 followed by home matches at Five Ways OE against Gloucestershire on May 8 and Berkshire on May 15.
