North Midlands Girls U15’s 2019
COVID-19 Message: 2020 / 2021 season
These pages will be appropriately updated as and when Covid restrictions permit activity and representative rugby recommences
Dear Coach/Club Contact,
Please find attached information regarding this season’s U15’s and U18’s North Midlands girls county rugby programme. The attached information is relevant to players at U15 and at U18.
Whereas this is an open trial, please can club/school coaches ensure they are selecting players with appropriate experience/skill levels to attend? To ensure the upmost safety of all players in attendance, all those participating will be expected to be competent in and around the contact area. Should any player be deemed to be unsafe and subsequently be at risk of injury, they may be asked to sit out.
“As in previous years in order to progress to the Centre of Excellence (U18 only) you will have to play for your CB in order to have the opportunity to be put forward by the coaches therefore it is essential that anybody from within the region wishing to play representative rugby begins their journey with the North Midlands RFU.
U15’s are school years 9 and 10.
U18’s are based on school year 11 and first 2 years of 6th form.
U15’s: The North Midlands County assessment will take place on Sunday 3rd February 2019 at Bournville Rugby, Avery Fields Sports & Events, 79 Sandon Road, Birmingham, B17 8DT
U18’s: The North Midlands County assessment will take place on Sunday 27th January 2019 at Old Halesonians RFC, Wassell Grove, Hagley, Nr. Stourbridge, West Midlands, DY9 9JP.
U15’s and U18s – Players taking part should arrive at the ground for 12.30pm to register. There will be a player brief at around 12.45pm and training will start at 1pm. The day is expected to be finished by 3pm.
There will be physios in attendance on the day. They will be there to treat any injuries that occur on the day. If you are carrying an injury please let the coaches and physios know. If you need any strapping please turn up with this already done.
Changing facilities and showers will be available, but please ensure you bring the appropriate clothing for all weathers as well as your own water and any energy bars or snacks that you need before and after. Gum shields and boots will also be necessary.
Please note if anybody is carrying injuries or is unable to attend the first session, they can still be involved in the programme as long as they attend the Development day on 17th February 2019 and make it clear upfront what your issues are.
Please make sure your email address is clear and correct as all information about the programme will come to you by email and not by phone call.”
