North Midland’s Women will be without their captain Steph Clarke for their trip to Southwell to face Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire on Sunday May 14.
Clarke is unavailable this weekend for what will be North Midlands’ last match of the season after they were trounced 95-0 by Yorkshire, beaten semi-finalists last season, at West Park Leeds on Sunday.
Yorkshire routed NLD by a similar scoreline the previous week and had the match against North Midlands wrapped up by half time as they ran in six first half tries to build a 38-0 lead.
There were nine more tries in the second half but North Midlands again plugged away gamely and showed plenty of spirit in defeat.
Claire Byrne of Five Ways OE will captain North Midlands against NLD in Clarke’s absence.
