Former North Midlands Under-20s prop Kai Owen has been included in England’s squad for next month’s World Rugby Under-20 Championship in Argentina.
Owen played county Under-20s rugby for North Midlands last season but missed out on selection for the Midlands Under-20s side.
But he impressed playing for Worcester Cavaliers at the end of last season and he was taken onto the Worcester Warriors Academy at Sixways this season.
He made his Warriors senior debut as a replacement in the European Challenge Cup victory over Stade Francais in Paris in October and made his England Under-20s debut in the recent Six Nations.
Having impressed when he came off the bench in England’s win over South Africa at Coventry two weeks ago, Owen has now booked his place on the plane to Argentina along with his Warriors team-mate Ted Hill.
Hill, who has already been capped by England at senior level, played for North Midlands Under-16s and is the son of former Malvern captain Vince Hill.
