Stourbridge’s Stourton Park ground has been chosen as the venue for this season’s North Midlands Cup final.
The home of the National Two North club boasts an Artificial Grass Pitch and was chosen to stage the county cup final after a tendering process.
The final will be played on Friday March 15 and will be a stand-alone event with the finals of the North Midlands Shield and Vase and their respective Plate competitions taking place at a different venue on a later date.
The decision not to play the North Midlands Cup final on the traditional North Midlands Finals Day has been taken to avoid a clash with the County Championship in the hope that more players from the most senior clubs in North Midlands will be available for county duty.
Organisers are also encouraging clubs to play their North Midlands Cup matches in midweek if possible after recent matches played by Birmingham & Solihull and Dudley Kingswinford under lights attract large crowds.
