Upton on Severn will observe a minute’s silence before their Midlands Three West (South) derby against Evesham tomorrow in memory of flanker Nathan Tomkins.
Nathan, better known as ‘Tank’, died suddenly on Christmas Eve aged just 22.
He was a local boy who played rugby at Hanley Castle HS both as a flanker and a prop.
Nathan became known as a fierce tackling openside flanker at Upton and was influential in their recent league win over Shipston on Stour.
He had also played occasional matches as a prop to ensure that Upton could put out a side and fulfil fixtures.
North Midlands RFU send condolences to Nathan’s family and friends and all at Upton on Severn RFC.
