Worcester have relaunched their Women’s rugby section.
The team disbanded when 60 players joined the Women’s Premiership franchise Worcester Valkyries but have reformed.
Former Worcester president Michael Clarke organised a Cake and Prosecco Evening in the Weston’s Fields clubhouse to kick-start the relaunch.
The function was well supported and those who attended will form the basis of a new team along with others who were unable to attend.
Training starts at Weston’s Field, Offerton Lane on August 1 under coach Jem Porteous and captain Lizzy Binx.
Friendly matches have been planned for next season with the aim of joining a league in 2020-2021.
Worcester Women’s Rugby will also be holding an RFU Inner Warrior Event at Weston’s Fields on September 5.
Anyone interested in joining Worcester RFC Women’s Rugby, or needing more information about future events, please contact Lizzy Binx on 07722-192267 or Michael Clarke on 07341-441167.
