Gary Street and Graham Smith, the coaching team who guided England to the Women’s Rugby World Cup earlier this year, will be among the guest presenters at the Birmingham Rugby Conference on Monday November 17.
Both have close links to North Midlands as Street played for the county and also for Greater Birmingham while he was with Aston OE, his only club.
Smith, a former Scotland A prop, played his cub rugby for Moseley and coached the Worcester Academy before he began coaching women’s rugby with the RFU.
Street and Smith will be back in Birmingham for the conference which will help clubs to prepare for next year’s Rugby World Cup.
The conference, which will run from 1pm to 9pm, has the theme of ‘RWC2015 – Delivering A Legacy’ and will provide clubs with information on how to make the most of the opportunities presented by staging the Rugby World Cup in England can help them attract more players, coaches, referees and volunteers.
The conference is free but clubs should contact Mike Dickenson at mjd201357@gmail.com or Peter Grace at peterwgrace@hotmail.com to confirm their attendance and to register the number of delegates attending.
