Three World Cup-winning coaches will share top billing at this year’s North Midlands Coaching Conference at Bromsgrove School on September 4.
Gary Street and Graham Smith, the coaching team who guided England to the Women’s World Cup in France two years ago, will be among the guest coaches at the conference along with Martin Haag, who coached England Under-20s to the Junior World Cup title in Manchester last month.
Street and Smith both have strong links to North Midlands. Street played for Aston OE and Greater Birmingham and began his coaching career with Birmingham University Women.
Smith played his senior club rugby for Moseley and worked as a Rugby Development Officer in North Midlands before he joined the Worcester Academy.
Haag, the former Bath and England lock, was assistant coach at Bath and director of rugby at Nottingham before he took over the national Under-20s side earlier this year.
Street, Smith and Haag will be joined at the North Midlands Conference by Richard Shuttleworth, the RFU’s Elite Coach Development Manager.
Places at the North Midlands Coaching Conference cost £20 each and include lunch.
