Yardley & District club stalwart David Treadwell has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Treadwell served as President of Yardley & District from 1994 to 2011 and has been recognised for his services to the community in Birmingham.
Treadwell’s community work in and around Acocks Green, serving as a Special Constable rising to the rank of Commander, 60 years’ involvement in scouting, sitting on the local NHS Trust Board and chairing various local committees.
In addition to his long involvement with Yardley & District, Treadwell was Chairman of the Greater Birmingham Rugby Development Group for several years.
He was nominated for the MBE by Yardley & District members Bill Worth, the current club President, and Ailsa Barnett.
“Yardley & District are immensely pleased that David has achieved this really well deserved recognition for all he has done in the local area,” said Worth.
